High level game at FC Barcelona Lassa’s court with a ticket for the Cup for the winner
Valencia Basket returns to action after the Christmas break in the Endesa League to face a new confrontation between the second and third classified in the match corresponding to the week 14 that will take them to visit the FC Barcelona Lassa’s court (Tuesday 27, 19:15h, Palau Blaugrana, # 0). In addition to staying with the second provisional position of the Endesa League, the winner of this meeting will mathematically seal their ticket for the Copa del Rey. The team led by Pedro Martínez has traveled to Barcelona this morning after a week without competition to prepare for this meeting and in the absence of the latest practices in Barcelona, has his twelve professional players available.
The tomorrow’s game will be the first confrontation of Valencian Victor Claver against Valencia Basket since leaving the taronja team in 2012. With recent history saying that Valencia Basket had their best results in the Blaugrana in the recent seasons and with remembering last year's victory, Valencia Basket will need their best version to repeat their triumph against an opponent who has not lost at home in the national competition during this season and has defended his court against rivals like Real Madrid or Baskonia.
FC Barcelona Lassa has not stopped their activity in the week of Christmas and faced two Euroleague matches in which it obtained a defeat in Baskonia’s court (65-62) and a home win vs. EA7 Emporio Armani Milan (89- 75). To the three absences already known of Pau Ribas (out for the season with a complete rupture of the left Achilles tendon), Shane Lawal (complete rupture of the patellar tendon of his left knee) and Stratos Perperoglou (injury to the inner leg twin Left), coach Bartzokas joins the last minute doubt of a Brad Oleson that missed the match of Vitoria by a low back and that only played 6 minutes vs. Milan. The Blaugrana captain Juan Carlos Navarro returned to the Endesa League last week after and injury and begins the game at four points of Granger Hall in the historic record of the League, so if he exceeds that figure against Valencia Basket will become the fourth maximum Scorer of the history of the League.
